Access and Credentials

The Syntax Console is a web portal, available at the following URL address: https://console.linkeit.comopen in new window.

To access the private content, the user will need a customer account to sign in into the portal.

An account is linked to the user’s email address and organization name, therefore there cannot be more than one account per email address, and a user cannot register an account with an organization name that already exist. To get more than one account for an organization, the organization administrator (the one who created it) must invite the rest of the organization members by email from the Invite form in the portal.

This section contains all the information regarding access and credentials management through the Syntax Console portal.

Invite New Users

There are two kinds of customer roles in the Syntax Console: organization owner, and organization operator.

When a user registers in the Syntax Console with a given organization name, no other user can register with the same organization name directly without invitation. This registered user is the organization’s owner, and can invite other users to join the Syntax Console within the same organization. These other users, when registered with an invitation, will have access as operators.

Currently, the only difference in privileges between those two roles is that only organization owners will have the ability to invite users to their organization.

Inviting a Member

Only organization owners can perform this action (that is, the users that registered directly into the Console, without invitation).

  1. Go to Account Settings

To do so, click on the username on the upper right corner of the screen, and select "Account Settings" on the user contextual menu that appears.

  2. Under Organization section, write the email address of the user you want to invite in the text field of the Invite Members sub-section and hit the “Invite” button.

If the email address is invalid or the email could not be sent, an error message shall appear under the form. On success, a notification should appear on the top-right corner of the screen.

An invitation email will be sent to the given email address with the necessary link to register into the Syntax Console within the same organization.

    Invite Members

New User Onboarding

An invited user will receive an email message with a link on it. Following this link will lead them to the Syntax Console registration form, but the email and organization fields will already be filled and non-editable.

Filling this pre-filled registration form (in the same way as specified in the Creating an account section), the user will become a member of the organization and will have access to the portal and see the same information as the rest of the members of their organization (contracts, licenses, registered hosts, etc.).

You can cancel the invitation by clicking "Cancel invitation" located on the top alert banner. As long as you are not already a user, you can reactivate your invitation by accessing the invitation link received by email.

Change your Password

A user can change their account password at any time once logged in, without the need to go through the Forgot Password flow.

Follow these steps to change your user's password:

  1. Go to Account Settings.

To do so, click on the username on the upper right corner of the screen, and select "Account Settings" on the user contextual menu that appears.

  2. Under Security section, click on the "Change password" button to show the Change Password form in order to initiate the password change flow.

    Change Password

  3. A new password form will appear, requesting the Change password and showing the requirements of your new password.

    Password Policy

Your new password needs to be at least 8 characters long, with at least a digit, a lowercase letter, an uppercase letter and a special character on it, and cannot contain any whitespaces.

  4. A notification will appear when the password is successfully changed.

Password Recovery

A forgotten password can never really be recovered, as passwords are stored encrypted and cannot be decrypted. If a user forgets their password, a new one must be set instead.

Follow these steps to recover your password:

  1. Click on the “Sign in” button on the top-right corner of the page to access the authorization dialog, or go to the authorization pageopen in new window.

  2. Click on the "Forgot password?" link in order to initiate your password recovery process.

  3. Enter the email address of the account that you want to recover the password for and hit the "Request recovery" button.

  4. An email message will be sent to the given email address (if it is registered in the database) with a verification code. Note down or copy the verification code, you will need it to validate your password change.

  5. Type your new password in both fields.

    Password Policy

Your new password needs to be at least 8 characters long, with at least a digit, a lowercase letter, an uppercase letter and a special character on it, and cannot contain any whitespaces.

  6. Insert the verification code previously received in the bottom field of the form and hit "Change Password".
