What is CxLink Backup?

CxLink Backup is a SAP-certified implementation of the the SAP Backint interface for SAP HANA, Oracle, SAP ASE (Sybase), MaxDB and DB2 to manage and store database backups on Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3) and Microsoft Azure Storage Containers. It supports both single and multi-node (scale-out) on SAP HANA and Oracle deployments on AWS and Azure. It also supports any Linux version supported by SAP ASE, MaxDB and DB2. Backup integrates seamlessly with Amazon S3 and Microsoft Azure making it an extension of SAP HANA, Oracle, SAP ASE, MaxDB and DB2 databases and leverages SAP administration tools to manage database backup catalogs stored on Amazon S3 and Microsoft Azure.

CxLink Backup is an agent installed locally in your SAP Database instance that integrates the SAP Backup interface with the public cloud to be used as the Storage Providers for your backups. CxLink Backup improves the parallel processing of your backups, providing maximum throughput for your backup/restores processes and reducing backup Recovery Time Objective (RTO) during recovery.
