Problem: Invalid block size error​

  • Symptom

    Backups fails when uploading to S3 and you see the following error on emory log file:

    May 20 16:04:45 2020 Backup Server: 4.163.2.2: Invalid block size for device emory::::XXX.DB.20200520.160445.001::001':
    _10
    The specified block size '65536' is greater than the maximum block size '16384' of the device.

  • Cause

    DUMP or LOAD commands fails reporting wrong block size

  • Solution

    Increase the value of SybIOSize on emory.cfg file to at least indicated value. In this case set SybIOSize to 65536
